Love Your Community Week 2016

For over five years we have been having Love Your Community Week along with community initiatives. The impacts have included property makeovers, partnering with other organizations, garden and landscaping projects, and a host of other accomplished missions. These acts of love are ways to get out into our community, make a difference, and get to know people around us.

Our desire is that as we make ties into our community, partner together, and show love in different ways – that we impact minds and heart. God has used these times to help us engage and also to help spread the word that the people of FBC care. Let’s continue to love like Jesus and see God work in and through us and next time we reach out in this way make sure you volunteer.

Homework Corner

Homework corner is a mentoring program to work with Albion grade school students at Oak Meadows Apartments. The children are encouraged to do their homework and some other project that helps them to advance their learning. A Bible lesson, hot cocoa and snacks are provided.

Nursing Home Services

On the second Tuesday of each month we meet at Magnum Care of Albion to have a service of encouragement, prayer, singing and a Bible message. If you are interested in helping with this ministry see Garner Parks or Cindy Spotts.

Red Cross Blood Drive

First Baptist Church participates in a Red Cross Blooddrive every year. We believe that the need for donors is always great. This year our goal was 27 pints of blood. Check the calendar for information on when then next blood drive will be.

Open House Sunday

For the last seven years we have used the weekend of the Festival of the Forks to invite people to come and visit our church. This is an excellent time to help connect with people and share with them our ministries. Start making contacts now to invite friends and family and enjoy time together at First Baptist Church.
