New Online Giving Platform Information

Members of First Baptist’s Finance, IT, and Deacon’s teams have been working for the past 2 months on a new option for tithing. We are proud to be rolling out a new Online Giving Platform called “Planning Center Giving.” Below you will find several answers to questions that I’m sure our congregation will have.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to change how I’m giving?
NO! We do not want anyone to feel like they have to change how they give. If you are happy writing checks or giving cash every week in the offering plate, then please continue! We just realize that in an ever-changing world, we needed to offer additional ways to give. We realize that many of you will want to begin giving in this new way, and we welcome that!

Is it safe?
YES! We knew when we started looking for an online giving platform, that the security of your transactions, as well as our accounts would be our number one priority. Our IT and Finance team worked closely together to go over safety and security protocols of Planning Center Giving, and are happy to say that Planning Center’s security measures go above and beyond what many other online sites offer. What ways can I give?
We will, of course, be continuing to accept Checks and Cash in the offering plate each Sunday, however this new system allows us to also accept:

ACH Donations (bank to bank transfers)
Credit/Debit Cards

If you wish to start giving with Credit/Debit or ACH you will also have the ability to set up recurring donations. This is a really nice feature. You can set it so that your credit card will be charged a certain amount Weekly on a certain day, or Monthly depending your preferences.

How Do I Set This Up?
One reason we decided to go with Planning Center Giving was because of it’s simplicity and available materials already out there for us to take advantage of. We believe that anyone can set up giving, but here is a video that can also show you what it will look like.

You can give by clicking the “Give Now” button at the bottom of this page to be taken to our online Giving portal, or you can download the Church Center App on your phone from the iOS or the Google Play store, find our church by typing in FBC Albion, and setting up your giving in that way.
