Let’s work together to make an impact!

We are so excited about Love Our Community this year. Every year we look for ways to show some love and build relationships with people in our community. Look over the list below and choose a project to help with, then sign up by filling in the information to the RIGHT of this paragraph and then hit the SUBMIT button. Together lets do our best to pour out some LOVE in our community.

2023 LOC Projects:

#1 Painting Fire Hydrants – Optional dates from May 9-20 - This project is one that can be done according to your schedule. Paint and supplies will be at the church along with maps indicating what fire hydrants will be painted. Sign up for the day and time you will be able to paint and Al Ross will make sure you have supplies and information. All can be reached at (517) 740-2977. Our goal is to paint 40 hydrants this year!

#2 Placing Flags at Veterans Tombstones- Cemetery – Saturday, May 13 -  This event is to partner with our local Veterans to honor those who have passed away that served in our Armed Forces. We will meet at Albion Memory Gardens (26905 B Drive South) at 9am and receive instructions and maps to know where to place the flags. After we are done we are planning on going to The Foundry for donuts.

#3 Harrington and #4 Concord Teacher Appreciation Treat boxes - These projects require people who would be willing to make some favorite candies, treats, snacks, or cookies. We want to say thank you to the staff at Harington and Concord Elementary Schools and show them our appreciation. Those who sign up should sign up and then state how many dozen of individually wrapped treats they can bring. (Ideas: Candies, Chocolates, Chex Mix, Trail Mix, Fudge, cookies, Puppy chow). Items should be brought on Sunday, May 14th. We will also need volunteers to help us deliver them on the following days:

o   Harrington Elementary - Tuesday, May 16              Led by Chris Ross

o   Concord Elementary – Friday, May 19                      Diane Kintgh and Melissa Buckler

#5 Teen Project – Staining Victory Hill Steps - This project will take place on Tuesday, May 16 and is led by Micah Doerksen. Any teens looking for a way to serve can help by signing up and meeting at Victory Park Hill.

#6 Planting Harrington Flower Boxes - This project is a great way to provide color and encouragement at Harrington Elementary School. We will prep and plant 4 flower boxes out in front by the Harrington sign. We will meet at the school on Wednesday, May 17 at 5:30pm.                         

#7 Haven Road Crew Appreciation Lunch - We will be serving lunch to say thank you to the workers involved in our Haven Road project. We have also invited our Albion Road Maintenance, Water Department, and City Parks Department to come and allow us to serve them as we grill and serve lunch. Please sign up if you can help from 11:30 to 1 pm on Thursday, May 18. o   Please sign up for 1 of the following items: 2 Fruit salad, 2 potato salads, 3 deserts, 4 Bags of chips,      Drinks

#8 Interfaith Shelter - Serving Dinner in Jackson - We want to help serve the homeless at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter – this will take place on – Friday, May 19 at 5pm. Please sign up along with your phone # so that Jesse Buck can share any information that may be necessary before arriving. The address is 414 S Blackstone in Jackson.

#9 Planting Flower Planters on Main Street - This project will take place Saturday, May 20 at 9am. We will meet in the parking lot just behind Kids N Stuff and then go plant and water the flowers on Main Street.

For Everyone - Fellowship and Prayer in our Community – Wednesday at 7pm - Join us in front of Stirling Books and Brew so that we can support our church members Jim and Stacy’s business by buying a drink or Ice Cream and then we will walk to the front of our Police Station and Fire Department and take time to pray for our First Responders. We will start to gather at 6:45 and if it is raining we have a special storefront Jim will have open for us to fellowship inside. Let’s see how we can be a blessing together as a church on this night.
